Holiday Rhymes - Krampus

Rent it on Amazon, Google Play, YouTube, and Apple TV

We’ve covered two classic films
On this blog so far,
A family picture and an action flick
Both setting a high bar.

Now we turn out attention
To something with more fright,
For Christmas is not always jolly
For those who fear the night.

Krampus is a horror film
And a good one I might add,
A creature-feature with a Holiday theme
How could this possibly go bad?

The legend of Krampus is an old one
Hardly spoken of or seen,
So it is a rare and chilling treat
When it graces the silver screen.

Our story follows a family
Dysfunctional in every way,
Trying to tolerate each other
Just for this one Holiday.

But one young boy has had enough
Of his families lack of cheer,
And sets out to make them pay
By giving them something to fear.

The boy called for vengeance
Intentional or not,
By overshadowing his Christmas Spirit
With anger and what not.

His cry called upon Karmpus
The Anti-Claus if you will,
An ancient spirit of Christmas
With plenty of terror to instill.

He’ll hunt you down
And make you pay,
For not celebrating
This Christmas day.

Can the family survive
This horrible night,
Or will they succumb
To the dreadful fright?

This film is a blast
A proper scary flick,
If you need a different Christmas watch
This just might doo the trick.

It’s not for the whole family
Adults only if you please,
For it is graphic and course
Like rare and smelly cheese.

For a frightful Christmas
This is a wise choice,
Halloween and Christmas fans alike
Can finally rejoice.

For it is not the only film
That blends these two traditions,
For there is another movie
With similar ambitions.

But that will have to wait
For another time and day,
Until then, be a good person
Or Krampus will make you pay!

Ladies & gentlemen, I am TheNorm; thank you all for reading.
